Nothing says legend more than the life of a Roman gladiator, and for the industry press and media launch of ‘Blood and Sand’, Produce delivered just that.
Transforming a neo-classical church into a decadent Roman arena for the launch of the highly acclaimed series on Bravo, the team welcomed 400 guests – with guest-of-honour John Hannah leading the charge past the centurions and mastiffs at the entrance to the banquet inside.
Guests feasted on a cornucopia of fruits, pigs heads and iced grapes injected with vodka, which were of course hand-peeled by salve girls. Meanwhile, a cage full of slaves awaited those who won the ‘slave for a night’ competition.
We: created the concept, designed an opulent set with 30ft columns and sumptuous Roman props, sourced golden chariots, managed actors in gladiator and slave roles, and produced the event.
Results: industry-wide gossip and acclaim.
