King’s Cross Open Day

With residents as weighty as the Guardian, the Observer and Central Saint Martins, an open day at King’s Cross was always going to demand something special. Adult visitors delighted in the new King’s Boulevard and restored Granary Building, while children and fun-seekers were entertained with a variety of interactive activities.

A cardboard metropolis enabled children to get hands – and hard-hat – on and play builder, architect and designer, while others climbed on the static big diggers, spider cranes and dumper trucks.

Other visitors were engaged in guided tours, a photobooth with fully-stocked construction-themed prop cupboard and were treated to a mug of proper builder’s tea and cake.

We: created, produced, event managed, sourced props, engaged interactive theatrical company Gideon Reeling to produce the metropolis.

Results: excellent feedback, an engaged community and a happy client.
